Cultural Heritage

The Working Group on Cultural Heritage was created during the II Latin American Congress of the Environmental Public Ministry, held in November 2010 in Asunción, Paraguay, with the goal of strengthening and integrating actions in this specialized area of ​​activity.

Since then the theme has been debated and deepened in the REDEMPA´s Congresses.

​​​​​​​The Group Coordination is in charge of the Prosecutor Marcos Paulo de Souza Miranda, of the Public Ministry of Minas Gerais, Brazil.

GOAL

The main objective of the Cultural Heritage Defense Group of the Latin American Network of the Environmental Public Ministry is to enable the exchange of the different Public Ministry's activities on the subject, as well as to disseminate information elements (normative acts, jurisprudence, doctrine, etc.) essential to the good performance of the mission to protect the assets of the Latin American cultural heritage (archaeological, speleological, paleontological, historical, landscape, etc.), in a holistic and comprehensive perspective of the concept of the environment.
