In reason of the I Workshop of Wild Species Trafficking held on September 9-12 in São Paulo, Brazil, was created the South American Network for the Eradication of Wild Species Trafficking, the Conservation and Protection of Biodiversity in South America. The event was held at the State of São Paulo´s Public Ministry / Brazil, which promoted the event in partnership with the Freeland Brazil organization, and was supported by the Latin American Network of Environmental Public Ministry and the US Department of State of America.

Were reunited at the four days event representatives of lots os entities involved to the protection of biodiversity, specially members of Public Ministries of Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru and Venezuela, all of them also representatives of their countries in Latin American Network of Environmental Public Ministry.


At the end of the event, the participants signed the "São Paulo Declaration," a document that contains the motivations for uniting their efforts and joint action to eradicate the trafficking of wild species and in future actions for conservation and protection of biodiversity region. The document can be read on the Latin American Network of Environmental Public Ministry website where it is attached.


The Working Group is supported by the Freeland Brazil organization.
